Livingston Families: COUNSELORS CORNER
This February, in individual classes and as a school, we have been focusing on kindness, love, and empathy toward one another. February 14-18 was Random Acts of Kindness Week. In celebration of the week, all students were invited to decorate the lunchroom by posting ideas for acts of kindness, and students also wrote down acts of kindness that they had done in a challenge called 307 Acts of Kindness. It was wonderful seeing students throughout the school make an extra effort to show love and kindness to those around them! Some of the 3rd grade girls even created a bulletin board reminding everyone that "Love is in the Air" here at Livingston. In Classroom Counseling, students in grades 3-5 have learned their love language, and how they can communicate their needs to parents, teachers, and friends. Students in grades K-2 have been learning about how to show love to others, how they feel loved, and what empathy is. In grades K-2, we continue to use the Little Spot of Emotions series to teach students about emotions, emotional regulation, and social skills.
This February, I have continued to meet with students individually, in small groups, and in large classroom settings. If any parents would like to refer their child for individual counseling, or if you would like to refer your child to a social skills, anxiety, anger, or other group, please contact me at through the front office, or at kambriesimmons@park6.org.
