Livy R.O.C.K.S!

At Livingston Elementary we have been implementing a program called Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).  The goal of our PBIS program is to enhance our school culture. In doing so we focus on reducing negative behaviors through purposeful and strategic encouragement of positive behaviors.  We have a wonderful school climate in which students learn and grow. However, we persistently seek to improve and to delve deeper into each student’s social, emotional, and academic needs.

Last year we determined a few key character traits that would help our school to continue growing and improving.  Our team decided the following traits would foster our goal for enhancing the school culture:  Respectful, On-task, Cooperative, Kind, and Safe.  Our teachers organized the descriptors to read as R.O.C.K.S.  To more thoroughly engage our young scholars we decided to use the phrase Livy R.O.C.K.S. when referring to our PBIS mantra and school culture.

Recently we started celebrating our Livy ROCK stars each morning during morning announcements.  We have celebrated several students and instructors, as we are blessed to have a building full of wonderful people.  Be listening and watching for your young scholar to be celebrated!
