Momo Challenge

News reports indicate the Momo creature has been seen on Facebook, YouTube, and in popular video games such as Fortnite. These Momo videos feature an odd bird-like creature that is said to encourage self harm and suicide. Park County School District 6 has confirmed the online existence of the meme as have other school districts in our area. There have been a few reports of children in the Big Horn Basin following through with challenges posed by Momo. Counselors and administrative personnel as always available at our school to address student concerns regarding this issue.

We encourage and advise you to talk to your children about your expectations for their electronic and internet usage. Be mindful of the videos your children are watching and supervise the games they are playing. We appreciate your partnership in our efforts to support our students and their safely. Please see our letter to parents for more information regarding the Momo challenge, and feel feel to contact us with any questions or concerns.

WyTopp Testing Continues

Our 5th graders will finish up the Wyoming Test of Proficiency and Progress (WY-TOPP) assessment the week of January 28. Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd will not take the WyTOPP assessment until the spring window which is April 15-May 10. We assess writing through WyTOPP only in grades 3rd and 5th at the elementary level. As parents, you can support our students and staff by doing those critical things that you consistently do at home to ensure students are prepared for high levels of learning every day. This includes making sure your children are getting plenty of rest each night. It is equally critical that students are coming to school with appropriate nutritional needs met to ensure optimal performance for the mental and physical demands of school. We are excited to see our students show off their learning!

We wanted to send out a reminder that you can turn in any aluminum cans that you save at the recycling center. Be sure to mention that they are for Livingston School. We receive a check from them at the end of the school year. The recycling center is located at 531 15th Street – turn N on 15th from Wyoming Ave. and go to the end of the street. Outdoor bins for aluminum cans, cardboard, magazines, newspapers, phone books, plastic bottles (1 and 2), glass, and office paper are outside for easy drop off. Thanks for helping us reduce waste and earn money for our school!
