Livingston Lizard News

There’s always something going on at Livingston, and we want to share all the great news with you. We will keep this page updated with important announcements, news stories, and student shout-outs. Please check back often, and help us celebrate our students’ many achievements.

Author Visit

We are so excited to have Eugene M. Gagliano visiting our students on Friday, October 27. Mr. Gagliano had been the recipient of many awards such as the 2010 Delaware Book List Children’s Choice Award, 2011 Wyoming State Historical Society Award for best fiction, and IRA’s Wyoming State Celebrate Literacy Award. He is also the 2016 Wyoming State Poet Laureate. We encourage you to check out his website. After Mr. Gagliano presents to the children he will have many of his books available for purchase. He might just even sign it too! Prices will range from $7-$20.

Spooktacular Jamboree

Livingston 2nd and 3rd graders are gearing up once again for the Spooktacular Jamboree, a Halloween reading event.

Classroom competitions will be next week on October 23 and 24. Students are judged for eye contact, facial expression, voice expression, creativity, story selection, and overall effect.

Three winners from each class will move on to a grade level competition held on Friday, October 27 in the school cafeteria. The third grade winners from each classroom will compete at 10:00 a.m., with second grade at noon, to see who will be moving forward into the Spooktacular Jamboree Finale. Three winners from each grade level will showcase their readings on stage, Tuesday, October 31 at 10:00 a.m. in the school cafeteria.

Time for Change!

Our school start time is changing! Following the week of parent/teacher conferences, we will be starting school at 8:10 a.m. We determined that October 10 is the most effective date to implement the new start time. We have confidence that each parent will be aware of the change in the schedule by this date. Originally, we believed school was to begin at 8:05 a.m. We apologize for any inconveniences regarding the change. Please be sure to review the details on this in our September 29 newsletter found in the Read All About It! section of this page.

School Store

Come visit our school store! Get your school t-shirt, pencils, cookbooks, lizard beanies, license plates, etc. The store is open on Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and in the afternoon from 1:25 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. If the store hours don’t work for you, stop by the office and we can help you out!
